Tailoring notes

How it is built.

01

Floating back panel

The back is attached at the yoke and hem only, so the panel moves independently and shows the bogolan-weight lining as a horizon line when the coat swings.

02

Single wrap closure

One woven belt, cut from a length made for two garments, is the only closure — no buttons, no storm flap.

03

Twice-rolled crew

The sculpted crew is rolled twice and hand-tacked at four points so it stands without interfacing.

Construction: Sculpted crew rolled twice · Single wrap closure · Floating back panel

Care

Keep it alive.

  • Dry clean only, undyed wool — request no optical brighteners.
  • Air outdoors in shade after wet weather; heat sets the technical shell.
  • Spot clean with cold water and a white cloth — never a coloured cloth on resist-dyed panels.
  • Store on a broad wooden hanger; folded storage flattens loom-strip structure.

The pair

Worn together.

Cut from the same run as the Sahel Funnel Knit.

Dress to express.
